Segway Rancang Motor Hybrid Listrik-Hidrogen, Siap Dirilis 2023

The Segway has undergone a major makeover in recent years. Under the new parent company Ninebot, the brand synonymous with self-balancing scooters is expanding its product range. Not only electric bikes and go-karts, his party is also designing a hydrogen-electric hybrid motorcycle. Reportedly ready for release in 2023.

Two wheels that are scheduled to launch in two years are called the Segway Apex H2. It is a development of Apex which was introduced in 2019 and took the floor at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Even though the motorbike has gone through a series of tests, the public has responded skeptically. Now Apex comes again with a different entity. If realized, the Apex H2 will be the world's first two-wheeled Hybrid to use a hydrogen fuel cell combination battery. This is a true revolution under the Xiaomi umbrella. Maybe many don't know. The private electronics company from China acquired Segway in 2015. Meanwhile, ninebot is a team of robotic technicians from China that focuses on developing artificial intelligence and environmental protection. Some of Ninebot's assets belonged to Xiaomi after they started a crowdfunding project in 2013.

Return to Apex H2. This first electric and hydrogen motorcycle was capable of delivering outstanding performance, and extremely low fuel consumption. It is estimated that the maximum power can reach 60 Kw (80 Hp) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 4 seconds. You could say the power is almost comparable to a racing motorbike. However, the maximum speed achieved is reportedly only 150 kph. The overall specifications have not been fully disclosed, but the manufacturer says the Apex H2 can burn one gram of hydrogen per kilometer.Powered by a hybrid "engine" that uses electricity and hydrogen to power the Apex H2. In addition to the existing batteries in general 'stun' vehicles, he is also equipped with a liquid tube. Of course, with the same level of practicality, it can be exchanged. And keep relying on recharging stations.

The background for this innovation was carried out considering the lack of infrastructure for electric charging stations. In some countries even now it is not completely adequate. Relying on multiple energy sources, may be an advantage in itself. If companies can put the theory behind the Apex H2 into practice, it could be a very attractive platform.

Apex H2 still adopts the same concept, namely Superbike. Overall it has an aggressive and decisive design. He also looks sporty with a full fairing stretcher. Equipped with a horizontal headlight integrated into the front body. The rear is more minimalist to give the impression of a future vehicle. And of course both of the lighting is LED technology.

The middle body is densely inflated. Of course, to wrap a large dimensional battery as well as a special hydrogen tube. In some parts, it is painted fluorescent yellow, which reflects the future vehicle. There are on each side of the fairing, the end of the subframe and the rim of the wheel. While the rim is neatly closed by a black cover. It doesn't look like how the braking system works. Naturally, because the picture that has been broadcast is still a prototype, so it has not been clearly revealed.

He is supported by the use of abnormal suspensions. Unlike motorbikes in general, it relies on a one-sided swing arm to support the two wheels. The system is similar to the Rotationally Advanced Design Development (RADD) that was used for the iron horse on the Yamaha GTS 1000 prototype and the Morpho concept.

Its hybrid technology has generated so much interest since it was first released, that people are struggling to get a single unit of this vehicle. From April 1, 2021 to April 30, 2021, the company officially opens orders for the Segway Apex H2. The two-wheeled mass production plan is not only to help the country achieve its “autonomy from coal” goal, but also to explore new clean energy applications.
