H O L D F I R E 流 Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 For the moment absent from the French market because of a dispute between it and Citroën, Polestar goes on the offensive in other European markets with two new rear-wheel drive versions of its Polestar 2. In addition to making its vehicle more affordable, the firm still offers very competitive autonomy of up to 540 km. The Polestar 2 range extends to three variants, a few months after the model was launched in all world markets in a “Dual Motor” configuration (second half of 2020). This version, 300 kW (408 hp) with an all-wheel drive guaranteed by two electric motors, is still available, with its large battery of 78 kWh (Long Range). Two other versions enrich the offer with a single electric motor (Single Motor) placed at the front and only two driving wheels. The first develops 170 kW (228 hp) with the same Long Range battery as the Dual Motor version and the second, considered the new entry level, offers 165 kW (221 hp) with a smaller battery (Standard) of 64 kWh . In Dual Motor configuration, the Polestar 2 retains its advertised range of 480 km with the 78 kWh battery. The Single Motor variant with Standard battery still offers a comfortable range of 440 km, for a lower price of around € 8,000 compared to the most powerful version (Dual Motor), i.e. from € 45,900 on the Belgian market. The Polestar 2 thus puts itself at the level of the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range with its 430 km of autonomy and its similar price, although slightly lower by a few hundred euros. On the performance side, if the Polestar 2 Dual Motor announced a breathtaking 0 to 100 km / h in 4.7 seconds with the Performance pack, the 170 kW Single Motor is necessarily less well, with 7.4 seconds in the same exercise. All these figures are however lower than those of the Tesla Model 3 which accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.3 seconds in its Performance variant, offered at € 59,990 in France.
