INTRODUCTION:

 Far Cry 3, considered one of the best games of the last year, acclaimed by critics and gamers, came to my hands a while ago. My first impression when starting the game was very exciting, and so I have been excited until the end of the game. From start to finish, Far Cry 3 is a game packed with fast-paced action, stealth, exploration, and most of all, freedom. During the story we can choose to continue with the plot or do other things. If we continue the plot we will get into several very complete and varied missions and we will discover secrets of Rook Island.

On the other hand, if we do not want to continue with the story, we can simply do what we want. If we want to go hunting, then come on, if we want to do secondary missions, then come on, if we want to do the Kamikaze on the island then also ... It is the greatest virtue of this game, which is not linear at all. There is a great arsenal of weapons, including the AK-47, the Famas, the Flamethrower, the Rocket Launcher, etc, etc, etc. Each weapon is customizable: we can change the sight, choose the color, expand the magazine, etc. We have a camera that is used to take photos and mark enemies. There is also a huge variety of vehicles, such as quat, jets, jet skis, boats, trucks, etc, etc, etc. Vehicles are found randomly on the map, depending on the area in which we are. The fauna is great, full of all kinds of animals, such as tigers, leopards, sharks, sea turtles, land turtles, dogs, eagles, Komodo dragons, deer, crocodiles, etc, etc, etc. Also, we find different types of plants to create syringes that will help us to raise skills during combat or heal ourselves.

The map of the island is gigantic and we will unblock the mapping by deactivating the 18 radio towers that are scattered around the island, or rather, the archipelago. We can mark on the map the places we want to go whenever we want. In short, a very complete game and very, very hard-working.

ARGUMENT:

We put ourselves in the shoes of Jason Brody, a young man who travels with his friends to Rook Island, a tropical island in the middle of the Indian and Pacific Ocean. After doing all kinds of crazy things with his friends, like parachuting out of a plane or racing on jet skis, he and his friends are captured by a gang of pirates, led by Vaas, who demand a ransom in exchange for their freedom. Jason escapes along with his brother Grant from him, but unfortunately Vaas finds them and kills Grant with a bullet. Jason runs to escape the pirate camp and is hunted. At the end of the chase, Jason falls off a broken bridge and lands in a river. The opening credits come out (creators, producers, name of the game) and then a hand comes out that rescues Jason from the water. Next, a cinematic appears where our savior, Dennis, a man belonging to the Rakyat tribe, who suffers because of the pirates, appears. After this, the game starts, where from the first moment we have total freedom. The main objective of the game is to rescue our friends throughout history, where we will see our character evolve. There are two different endings depending on what we do in the last sequence of the game.

GRAPHICS 85:

In the graphics I highlight the vegetation, the water, the facial expressions of the characters, the light effects and other things. In the console version, the game suffers from various graphical glitches, such as things that disappear out of nowhere, things that can be traversed, slow texture loads, etc. Although the truth is that the map is so large and beautiful that you can almost forgive these mistakes. Generally, when the errors do not appear, graphically it is a joy. There are no loading times on the entire map, and it's appreciated!

MUSIC AND SOUND 90:

The music is very good and it gets us right into the action, with songs like Skrillex Make It Bun Dem on a mission and "pachanga" music when we drive the cars. The sound is the best of all, and I highlight the voices of the characters (some very good and others that lack a bit of realism), the noise of the animals, the noise of the effects such as jumping into the water, jumping, the shots weapons, vehicle engines, etc. These two aspects are very well done.

PLAYABILITY 95:

The gameplay in this game is a joy. The sensitivity is very well adjusted (I personally like to put it to the maximum) and the character is handled luxuriously. We can do actions such as jumping, aiming, driving (the vehicles handle very well), swimming, diving, crouching, flying in a flying suit, etc. One thing I highlight is that this game is very realistic in terms of health. To heal, we must hold down the triangle button and the protagonist will heal in different ways: he will use a syringe, bandage his arm, remove a bullet from his arm with a knife, etc. We can heal while driving. If we are behind a cover, we will not be cured instantly, as happens in other "shooter"; we must always hold down the triangle to heal.

DURATION 100:

The game lasts as long as you want. The main story lasts a maximum of 15 hours, the secondary missions are almost endless and there is always something to do, whether it is improving weapons, expanding the wallet or backpack using animal skins that we will have to hunt or simply go crazy around the island. There is a cooperative mode, where we can play with a maximum of 4 people, where we are presented with an alternative story to that of the individual story. In addition, the game has online multiplayer, which will make us enjoy a lot, although I do not recommend this game only for online. Getting the Platinum trophy in this game is almost impossible ... This game is almost infinite!

FUN 95:

In this game it is impossible to get bored! The main story hooks to the end and doing side quests or doing the KamiKaze around Rook Island is pure fun and entertainment. The cooperative and multiplayer modes extend the experience and are very entertaining, although a bit inferior to what the story mode offers us.

 

THE BEST:

Total freedom throughout the game, the music and the sounds, the duration, it is tremendously addictive and fun.

WORST:

 Quite a few graphical glitches and some good but not very credible voices.

CONCLUSION:

A perfect combination between sandbox and first-person shooter, which stands out for its duration and for its fun. If you have always dreamed of visiting a tropical island, but you cannot afford it, now for 29.95 euros you can fulfill your dreams. Highly, highly recommended.
