Scots win for the first time in French fief since 1999

Van der Merwe es felicitado tras conseguir el ensayo final.

An illustrious surname, Hastings, supported by Adam, the son of the great Gavin, put the tombstone in Paris to the French illusions of conquering the 6th Nations (23-27). The opening sealed with a transformation the test achieved by Duhan van der Merwe - individually, surely the best of the whole tournament - and interrupted 21 years of drought in the visit to the French fiefdom.

On the other side, disappointment took hold of the French, whose dairy accounts exploded from the beginning to the happiness of Cardiff, who regained the title of the great European tournament, with the disappointment of having been only a minute away from the conquest of the Grand Slam, after the defeat last Saturday in Paris.

Despite ending one less player with the unmitigated dismissal of Finn Russell who put a forearm on the neck of defender Dulin as he moved towards the goal line, Scotland won when they thought they could. Gaining possession (55 percent) and for a full effectiveness in kicking sticks, which Romain Ntamach, the French starter, did not have. He failed two transformations that ended up weighing down.

A cold start
France came out cold at the start. The rain did not favor the cheerful game at hand either and the stony Scottish striker, the best defense of the championship - she had only conceded 12 attempts in the last two VI Nations - held her in her field for a long time in the first half. On 3-10, after a rehearsal by striker Van der Merwe, and the leg of the recovered Finn Russell was freezing the illusions.

But, warmed up, France, with sparks, began to build their game supported by the front. Scotland began to add penalty shots, 9 in the first, and so much infraction left them without captain Stuart Hogg during the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Dulin's rehearsal, before, and always Ntamack's leg (8 points in the first half) made him go to rest with a minimal advantage (13-10).

The start gave the Gauls hope after a kick to follow from Penaud who caught himself in the mark zone. The play invited to believe in Galthie's team because of how, with a happy play, rugby was produced, which is a sign of this French generation, called to create a dynasty in the 1920s. Also because there were 33 minutes left and they only needed two more trials.

A great Scottish team
But they had a very serious team in front of them, that although in recent times they have hit rock bottom for several seasons - despite the incorporation of Italy they go to two wooden spoons for decades - they have achieved a very difficult team to beat. It is no coincidence that in the same year they ended 38 years of defeats at Twickencham and 21 in Paris. Russell, who has a glove, passed another kick, reduced distances, and the fat Cherry, in a zigzag movement, aborted the insurrection with a test with 19 minutes to go (18-20).

Although France reacted and the second of Toulon, Swan Rebbadj, in the only great action of a discreet Dupont, put France at the top, the nationalized South African Van der Merwe reappeared to make the Scots and Welsh happy, twinned like the last time they Scotland won the 6th Nations, in 1999, when it was the 15th of the Dragon that stormed Wembley to the joy of the boys of the North.
