Years go by and the style of Jose Mourinho seems to be giving no more in the world of football, or at least in English territory. Last Thursday, his team, Tottenham, were eliminated in the Europa League against the weak Dinamo Zagreb ... Another failure to the recent list.

Unfortunately for the Portuguese, this is neither the first nor the last time that he leaves a field with his head down. In recent times, it has been more sadness than joy in his successful career. Has the twilight of him come?

Jose Mourinho
James Rodríguez, ready for his return: this is how he trains with Everton
More than a decade ago he was nicknamed 'The Special One' because of the way he is, quite controversial by the way, and the talent he had to extract oil from his footballers with a particular method.
.
He was Champions League champion with the humble Porto (2003-04) and the almighty Inter Milan (2009-10), commanded much of Chelsea's recent successes, fought one-on-one with Real Madrid against Guardiola's idyllic Barcelona and it was the promoter of a rebirth at Manchester United.
.
Unfortunately all of the above is in the past. In statistical matters, ‘Mou’ has four years without winning any title. The most recent ones were when he coached the 'Red Devils' in the 2016-17 Europa League and English League Cup.

He spent a year (2019) without directing and made a living as a commentator on the British network ‘Sky Sports’. At the end of that year, November more exactly, he finally signed with Tottenham, after having sounded at Arsenal and even a possible return to Madrid.

With the ‘Spurs’ he has not been able to form a solid team and until now he lives under the shadow of Mauricio Pochettino. In Premier he barely reached the Europa League, a tournament in which he has just been humiliated.
.
To say that he could only handle big teams would be an expletive (he won a Champions League with Porto and gave a European title to the worst Manchester in history), which is why, perhaps, his biggest fault lies in his way of being of the.

Being so direct with the footballers and getting to fight with several of them has cost him his position on several occasions (he spent in Real Madrid, Chelsea in his second stage), an aspect that he is already repeating in the London box. He let Rose go, he almost did the same with Ndombélé ...

If the lack of sporting success is added to the above, he will end up repeating the same story of recent years. There is a precedent: leaving Madrid due to conflicts within the group and poor results, leaving Chelsea leaving him two boxes from relegation, leaving United due to poor results and more personal problems ...

He currently has only the Carabo Cup final to decently end a terrible season with Tottenham, also taking into account that he is eighth in the Premier and for the moment he is out of all European competition. Of not winning the Cup, which curiously he disputes with Guardiola's City, it would be very difficult to justify its costly continuity.
