The bike that in 2016 introduced BMW to the fight for models specifically created for the A2 license in the trail segment receives a second youth for 2021. In addition, it joins all the other GS versions with a special 40th Anniversary edition. .

The BMW G 310 GS established an unprecedented strategy at BMW for many different reasons. On the one hand, together with its naked sister G 310 R, it was the first time that they had entered the A2 license segment with a motorcycle exclusively created for this purpose, beyond the limitations of other models in their higher displacement series. On the other hand, the G 310 GS is a model designed and conceived in Germany, being manufactured in India by the giant TVS, a scheme similar to that used years before by KTM with its partner Bajaj.

In this way, the first G 310 GS was born in 2016, a series that is completed with the naked G 310 R, both models ideal for those new to driving large motorcycles with an A2 license. In both versions, the exclusive reverse cylinder head engine is used, in which the intake is through the front and the exhaust through the rear. It delivers a maximum power of 34 hp at 9,500 rpm and already exceeds the Euro 5 standard.

Among the technical novelties of the BMW G 310 GS 2021 we find an electronic throttle that allows the installation of an automatic idle increase system when starting to prevent the motorcycle from stalling. A new anti-lock clutch is also added to make driving easier for novice riders by preventing the rear wheel from locking up in heavy hold-ups. Likewise, it has been possible to reduce the outside necessary to act on the left handle, which will result in greater comfort of use, especially in an urban environment.

Externally, a new LED headlight and turn signals with this same technology can be seen, which are added to the previous rear brake that already exhibited this solution. This new LED headlight guarantees the uniformity of the light beam and the elimination of the classic vibrations.

Regarding its ergonomics, adjustable levers in four distance positions are added to the grips, with a point 3 that would correspond to the present until now and a point 1 6 mm closer to the handlebar.

The typical GS image is reinforced in this BMW G 310 GS 2021 edition with its three different colors. They all share the engine housing covers for the alternator, clutch and water pump painted in metallic titanium gray.

In addition to the typical GS colors, white with the basic color polar white and the tank side panels in gray, the new BMW G 310 GS has a very sporty look in Rallye style. The Kyanit metallic red and blue painted frame for the central tank cover stands out.

But one of the most notable novelties of this second generation BMW G 310 GS is the inclusion of a "40 years GS" edition based on the mythical R 100 GS, in black and yellow.
