[Auto] New Renault Arkana: An SUV Coupé, spacious and hybrid

This innovative proposal complements the other models in its compact range (Mégane, Kadjar and Scénic) and focuses on the exceptional growth of the SUV market, especially that of the C segment.

 

SUV bodies are the best-selling in the Spanish market, and already represent more than 50% of total sales. The C-SUV segment, specifically, occupies more than 25 percent of the absolute market in our country, being the most important in volume individually. New Arkana becomes part of the most innovative part of the segment: the incorporation of the SUV Coupé concept, until now exclusive to the upper segments.

 

With the New Arkana, Renault proposes a new generation SUV with a strong hybrid personality, both in its style and in its engines. Thus, by combining a high driving position that conveys a feeling of security, great habitability and a generous boot volume, with an elegant and innovative sporty style, this new vision of the SUV concept is more exciting and dynamic, which corroborates the design of its RS Line version.

 

New Arkana also stands out in terms of safety, achieving the maximum 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. At the same time, it benefits from a range of multi-character hybrid engines, consisting of the cutting-edge 145 hp E-TECH Hybrid engine and the 1.3 TCe engine with micro-hybrid technology and additional 12V battery in the 140 hp version, which will be expanded with another 160 hp engine equipped with this technology from October 2021.

 

New Renault Arkana has been designed to meet the varied expectations of international markets and represent the Group's global approach, as well as its ability to accelerate the conquest of new markets. It is a global vehicle with technical features adapted to each region. In Europe, New Arkana is based on the Alliance's modular CMF-B platform, also used in the latest generations of Clio and Captur.

 

Like the Renault Samsung Motors XM3, the New Renault Arkana is manufactured at the Busan plant in South Korea. Orders can be placed in Spain from March 24, 2021 and marketing will begin at that time for TCe versions with micro-hybrid technology and in June for E-TECH Hybrid versions.
