Focusing on the latter, the BMW iX is positioned as a large and luxury electric SUV. It will hit the market at the end of this year 2021 as the brother of the X5 and X6, although with a totally different technology. The German brand qualifies it as the new flagship, being the first model based on the new set of future of the BMW Group. Let us know in the following lines all the technical details and the first two versions that have already been confirmed. BMW iX xDrive40 and BMW iX xDrive50 The access version at launch will be the BMW iX xDrive40. It develops a power close to 300 CV, as well as a range of more than 400 kilometers. It has four-wheel drive and, depending on the brand, can do 0 to 100 km / h in about 6 seconds. The approximate consumption is 20 kWh / 100 km. Meanwhile, the most powerful version will be called iX xDrive50. In this case we are talking about more than 500 CV, exceeding the 600 kilometers of range in the WLTP tests. Of course, it also has four-wheel drive and, in this case, for the clock below 5 seconds from 0 to 100. Its consumption is about 21 kWh / 100 km. In both cases the maximum speed is limited to 200 km / h. If we talk about batteries, the xDrive40 version has a gross capacity of around 70 kWh, while the more powerful variant exceeds 100 kWh. Fast charging up to 200 kW If you wonder about the recharging times, as always, they vary a lot from the installation where we are recharging the vehicle. In a domestic outlet or in a Wallbox it allows recharging at a power of up to 11 kW, estimating a full charge time of 8 hours for the less powerful version and about 11 hours for the more performance. In the case of fast charges, the BMW iX xDrive40 accepts up to 150 kW, increasing to 200 kW in the xDrive50. In this way, with about 10 minutes of recharging, about 100 or 120 kilometers of range are achieved. It can go from 10 to 80% of its capacity in just 40 minutes.
