Lately, many people have started to realize the importance of having a healthy and balanced diet.

One step in the diet can actually put health at stake. Not to mention if you are too extreme to do a diet, instead of being healthy, you get a short life.

We must at least know what to do to keep the diet running, but without neglecting the body's needs.

In order to stay nutritious and healthy, many nutritionists continue to include core components of the diet, including vegetables, fruits, whole grains, protein, and dairy products.

In ancient times, we were also introduced to 4 Sehat 5 perfect for maintaining health.

However, a study recently conducted by researchers at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health in Boston, MA, offers a different suggestion, namely by encouraging increased consumption of vegetables and fruit.Research reported by Medical News Today found that consuming at least 2 fruits and 3 servings of vegetables every day can reduce the risk of death from disease and death from all causes. Dr. Dong D. Wang, MD, Sc.D., an epidemiologist and nutritionist at Harvard Medical School says that groups like the American Heart Association even recommend consuming 4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Then, according to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025, half of the plate at every meal should contain fruits and vegetables. The reason is clear, the researchers observed a trend of lower risk of death in those who regularly eat green leafy vegetables and foods rich in vitamin C and beta carotene.Fruits and vegetables that fall into this category include spinach, kale, carrots and citrus fruits.

Research also states that compared to whole fruit, liquid in the form of juice can cause a faster increase in blood glucose and insulin levels, which can increase the risk of disease.

In contrast to previous guidelines, which included canned foods and juices among the recommended foods and drinks, this study recommends that we prefer fresh foods.

A lot of evidence discusses the benefits of a balanced diet that includes lots of fruits and vegetables. This conclusion is also consistent with findings from a similar observational study of the association between fruit and vegetable intake and disease.

The study's findings are consistent with dietary guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Agriculture, to eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

A healthy and balanced diet is proven to be one of the keys to a healthy body and longevity. Therefore, let's start taking care of your diet and don't forget to eat vegetables and fruit!
