Intel gets rid of extended warranty for overclocking on its Core processors

Removing this warranty by Intel indicates that users are responsible for what happens to their processors. Usually few users choose this type of specific plan. For the average user, who will upload it a bit frequently, it doesn't make much sense. For professional overclockers, it is irrelevant, since they usually receive the processors of their sponsors.

Intel's PTPP is reserved for Core-K processors only, the only ones with OC support. Said plan or guarantee implied a cost of between 20-30 dollars. It offered a guarantee that Intel would replace the damaged processor in case something went wrong during the overclock process.

To PTPP clients,

The Performance Tuning Protection Plan has been discontinued.

As customers overclock with more confidence, we are seeing less demand for Performance Tuning Protection Plans (PTPPs).

As a result, Intel will stop offering new PTPP plans as of March 1, 2021.

Intel will continue to focus on delivering amazing processors with tuning flexibility and overclocking tools like Intel Performance Maximizer and Intel XTU.

All existing plans will continue to be honored during the processor's warranty period.

If you have questions, contact customer service.

Note on Intel Xeon W-31 75X processor

Xeon W-31 75X processor is automatically covered for overclocking, no additional plan or activation code required

Thank you, PTPP Team.
