For several months now, multiple users have been reporting through forums such as Reddit problems related to USB connectivity present in systems that have AMD 500 series motherboards. Even though these complaints weren't gaining enough attention, it now appears the issue has escalated to a point enough for AMD to speak up.

The first reports of these problems came from Gigabyte motherboards, but users of other brands also began to speak up soon after. Generally, what was reported is peripherals connected to USB ports, which are disconnected out of nowhere and stop working. While not everyone suffers from the same problem, people who are affected say it occurs frequently.

AMD's statement

“AMD is aware of reports that a small number of users are experiencing intermittent USB connectivity issues, reported on 500 series motherboards. We have been looking at the root of this problem and, at this time, we would like to ask It helps the community. With a small selection of additional hardware configurations over the next few days, some r / Amd users will be contacted directly by an AMD representative (u / AMDOfficial) via Reddit's direct messaging system with a request for more information. " stated AMD on the company's subReddit.

As we can see from the statement, AMD still does not know for sure what is causing these problems and will need the help of users to get more information before they can be resolved.

In addition to the direct contacts you will make via Reddit, AMD also encourages people experiencing similar issues to report in detail using its bug report form.

“This order may include detailed hardware configurations, steps to reproduce the problem, specific logs, and other relevant system information to verify our development efforts. We will offer an update when we have more details to share. Customers experiencing problems are always advised to create a service order with AMD customer support; this allows us to find correlations and compare notes across different support requests. "

AMD is not sure what is causing these USB connectivity problems on 500 series motherboards. Are you suffering from it?
