The Guardian newspaper published an article written by Hossein Mousavian, a former Iranian diplomat and Abdul Aziz bin Saqr, a Saudi researcher, on the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran and the possibility of its solution.

The two authors say that "relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran have fluctuated in the past forty years between competition and collision, and cooperation as well."

They believe that despite the differences between the two countries on many issues, there is no imperative that enmity between them continues.

The first step for writers on the road to resolving the crisis is for each party to acknowledge the other's perception of the dangers threatening him, whether real or imagined, and then adopt a set of principles that he can work on
