[Auto] Mazda CX-5 2021: with more connectivity and new Homura edition

Mazda just released an update to its CX-5 crossover model. It is not about a generational change, or a deep restyling; but the Hiroshima firm has made a small update retouching some specific aspects for this 2021. In addition, it adds a new special edition called Mazda CX-5 Homura.

These tweaks mainly affect connectivity technology, as well as some mechanical and electronic management. Mazda says the engines have been overhauled to offer a better driving experience, which in turn is more environmentally friendly. The six-speed automatic transmission is also more effective.

 

Connectivity improvement

The Japanese company has changed its infotainment screen for a superior 10.25 inches. Although we cannot corroborate it, Mazda says that it is faster and easier to read, having made the operation of it through the HMI Commander more intuitive.

On the other hand, it now has more services connected through the smartphone through the MyMazda application. It has more functions such as remote door closing, vehicle locator, remote programming of destinations in the browser from the mobile, wireless updates, contact with the dealer and workshop, roadside assistance or security alert.

 

Mazda cx-5 homura

As for the new special edition, as we mentioned at the beginning it is called Mazda CX-5 Homura. Add a more dynamic touch to the vehicle, also counting with more equipment. By the way, Homura is a term that means "fire" or "flame" in Japanese. Its featured special equipment is as follows:

• 19-inch black alloy wheels
• Black exterior mirrors
• Faux leather and faux leather seats with red stitching
• Heated front seats
• Driver's seat with electric adjustments
• Black interior trim

The starting price of this special edition of the SUV model is 34,400 euros with the 2.0 Skyactiv-G 165 hp engine and manual transmission. It can also be configured with this same engine and automatic transmission, or make the jump to the 2.5 Skyactiv-G engine with 194 hp.
