According to the United Nations, approximately one third of the food produced globally for human consumption is wasted each year. New research from Samsung [1] shows that factors such as not knowing whether to store products in the fridge or pantry and the lack of expiration dates contribute to this unnecessary waste.

Technology has advanced to such an extent that refrigerators have the most recent advances that reduce food waste. From the possibility of customizing the temperature and humidity in some compartments, to reminders with expiration dates to consume the products in a timely manner.

To help you improve your food organization skills, Samsung shared some tips for getting the most out of your products and reducing your waste.

Cooling tips

- Know the specific temperature needs of each food. For example, dressings and sauces do not require very low temperatures and are best stored on the shelves in the refrigerator door, this will keep them out of the way and make other perishable foods more visible. Meanwhile, the top shelves of the fridge are ideal for food that needs to be kept cold, like dairy, and the bottom compartments are best for those that are easily damaged.
