TEST. Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)

Nintendo has shared a variety of new details about Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. In addition to giving players an overview of the port's new online mode and other features, the company has revealed the game's file size, and it's quite small.

According to Nintendo's website, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury weighs in at only 2.9 GB. That is larger than the Wii U version's file size, likely due to the extra content the Switch port contains, but it's much smaller than many other Switch games; for comparison, even Super Mario 3D All-Stars weighs in at just under 5 GB.

The Bowser's Fury component is the most notable addition to the package. Unlike the base game, this mode takes place in a large, open-ended level called Lake Lapcat, where Mario will team with Bowser Jr. (who can be controlled by a second player) to collect items called Cat Shines and take on a Godzilla-sized Bowser.

The base Mario 3D World game has also received some new features and upgrades in the move to Switch. This time, the game features local and online play, as well as a new photo mode and other enhancements, like increased movement speed for all characters. The game is also compatible with various Amiibo figures.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury launches for Switch on February 12. Alongside the game, Nintendo is release a special Mario edition Switch console, as well as the new Cat Mario and Cat Peach Amiibo figures. You can learn more in our Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury preorder guide.
