FNX Magokiler
SANTIAGO.- A new ministerial adjustment will have to face the Government in early 2021, this facing January 11, the date on which the deadline for those who want to apply for the Constitutional Convention to leave their positions and be registered as candidates for said elections expires. . The issue generates attention in Chile Vamos, a block that will carry a single list of candidates in this election. In fact, last Thursday the parties asked President Sebastián Piñera himself to encourage the departure of authorities to compete as constituents. According to those who participated in the meeting where the issue was raised, the President would have urged to be honest who these letters were and to know which parties will promote them. It is that although the ruling party indicates that the President is interested in the good performance of the coalition, they add that the focus is on giving freedom to those authorities who want to leave the Government and compete, rather than encouraging them to leave their posts. The faces that appear Although there are only a few weeks left for that, from La Moneda they point out that there is still no absolute clarity of all the authorities who will leave their positions, although it is expected that it will not be a change of great proportions. In addition, senior sources from Palacio affirm that the idea is that any adjustment should take place before Monday, January 11, this given that that day Chile Vamos must register its candidates with the Electoral Service (Servel). It has been a long time since several names have been ringing to run as constituents, among the options to compete in this election would be the Minister of Agriculture, Antonio Walker, the Undersecretary of Crime Prevention, Katherine Martorell and that of Children, Carol Bown. Likewise, names have emerged such as that of the Undersecretary of the Segpres, Juan José Ossa, the Minister of National Assets, Julio Isamit, and the Ministers of Social Development, Karla Rubilar and of Sports, Cecilia Pérez, although when consulted by the press, both secretaries of state have rejected this idea. And although the Housing Ministers, Felipe Ward and Segpres, Cristián Monckeberg, also sounded a while ago, from their surroundings they affirm that their options are up to now ruled out and would remain in the cabinet. Days ago, the government spokesman, Jaime Bellolio, was consulted on Radio Universo on this issue, when he confirmed that "there may be some ministers who want to leave to be candidates for constituents", although he noted that "there are few for now" .
