[Auto] The Bentley Bacalar lands on the test track before hitting the road

The past Geneva International Motor Show had to be very special for Bentley. However, the health crisis caused by COVID-19 forced those responsible to cancel the appointment. In this way, brands had to modify their presentation strategy and jump on the digitalization bandwagon. Well, among the models that we would have liked to meet in person was the exclusive and radiant Bentley Bacalar by Mulliner.

The English firm classified it as the most luxurious roadster in the world and there is no lack of reason. This is not only due to its sumptuous lines or exquisite finish, but also because of its limited production. Well, the English house has taken another step for Bacalar to reach the market. The twelve units they promised are already sold and their customers are looking forward to enjoying them. To do this, the Bacalar Car Zero lands on the test track.

Among the tests to which the Bentley Bacalar Car Zero will be subjected are speed or climatic. Thus, they will evaluate its performance and behavior at maximum speed (322 kilometers per hour) to check the stability, dynamics, noise and vibrations that its chassis can transmit to the passenger compartment. Regarding the weather, the interior materials and electrical system will be tested at temperatures of up to 80 degrees Celsius.

On a technical level, the Bentley Bacalar shares a platform with the Continental GT. The rest of the elements that make up its appearance are new, the only vestige remaining is the handle to open the door. In fact, this special version has more than 750 new components created expressly for him. Of the total, around a hundred are pieces printed with the latest 3D technology and more than 40 in carbon fiber.

The delivery date of the first units has not been announced, although the time that these 45 validation tests will last has been announced. According to the calendar, the brand's engineers will work for about 20 weeks, which is the same for about 5 months. Therefore, it is expected that by the second half of 2021 they will be able to enjoy it.
