SANTIAGO.- "Priority legislative agenda" is the title of the section contained in a document delivered last night to the parties of Chile Vamos, in the middle of a dinner led by President Sebastián Piñera. There, he becomes aware of 38 projects that La Moneda is interested in turning into laws before the end of the Government. Of these, 9 measures are from the social agenda, 4 from the economic agenda, 19 initiatives are of an institutional nature and 6 are related to other important agendas for the Executive.

Today, meanwhile, after the last cabinet change, Piñera recalled "what is the chart of navigation, the roadmap, the priorities, tasks and commitments that, as a Government, we assume for the next 15 months of the mandate that the people democratically conferred on us ". These include, for example, the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the vaccination process, continuing to promote the reactivation of the economy and the recovery of employment, safeguarding public order, reforms to the pension system and the system of health. Along with helping the constitutional process lead us to a "good port" and that the next elections are held in a peaceful and transparent manner. Objectives that are consistent with various measures on its legislative agenda. Social and economic agenda With regard to the social sphere, the Government seeks to advance projects such as the one established by the Integrated Social Protection Network System, which creates health insurance for the middle class, pension reform, compulsory kindergarten initiative and the reform that creates the National Health Fund that creates the Universal Health Plan. To these are added, the subsidy system for the middle systems of kindergarten education, the system of guarantees of children's rights, the comprehensive reform of the adoption system and the one that modifies the private health system, incorporating a guaranteed plan. In this economic matter, it is expected to approve TPP 11, establish the right to electrical portability, the short fishing law and the project that creates the social benefit of education at the nursery level. Institutional agenda In institutional matters, meanwhile, it is expected to approve the measure that implements a tactical system of police operation, the project that modifies various regulations of the Criminal Code referring to the crime of fire, the National Emergency and Civil Protection System and creates the Agency National Civil Protection, the one that strengthens and modernizes the State intelligence system and the one created by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.

 

 

Also added to the list is the measure that modifies the registry and notarial system in organic and functional aspects, the one that suppresses or modifies the intervention of notaries in certain procedures, actions and steps, another that modifies the Criminal Procedure Code with the aim of allowing the use of special investigative techniques in the prosecution of conducts that the law qualifies as terrorists, in addition to an initiative that modifies the Criminal Procedure Code and other legal bodies to strengthen the Protection of the Chilean Gendarmerie Security and Order Forces and a constitutional reform project that regulates the state of alert to prevent damage to critical infrastructure. On the other hand, initiatives such as the one that modernizes the professional career for the Armed Forces, the one that modifies the arms control law, another that establishes the gradual prohibition of the operation of gaming machines, the protection of personal data , a measure that establishes a new system of purchases and investments of the strategic capacities of national defense, the regulation of the substitution of sentences deprived of liberty for humanitarian reasons, the one that modernizes the State Defense Council, the one created by Sernafor and a project that determines terrorist conduct and its penalty, and modifies the Penal Code and Criminal Procedure. Other agendas Finally, 6 bills related to other agendas that La Moneda wants to promote are included, here is an initiative on energy efficiency, a project that establishes an exceptional and transitory benefit with respect to the obligation to guarantee the closure of a mine and mining facilities, one that regulates the use of firewood as fuel for home use and the conditions for its commercialization. There are others that establish the framework law for climate change, the one that creates the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Service and the National System of Protected Areas, and one that introduces modifications in the environmental institutional framework and in the Environmental Impact Assessment System.
