The new positives for covid-19 in Navarra have suffered a notable decrease in recent hours, falling to 65, according to data provided by the Institute of Public and Labor Health of Navarra (ISPLN), after performing in the public system of health 1850 tests (1135 PCR and 715 antigen tests), with 3.5% positive.

This is a considerable decrease compared to the data recorded the day before, in which 124 were counted. Therefore, infections have been reduced by half. Along the same lines, the positivity rate has dropped more than three points, dropping from 6.8% to 3.5%.

From the epidemiological point of view of the evolution of the pandemic, the Navarra Institute of Public and Labor Health indicates that yesterday there were six new admissions related to this disease in the Foral Community, one in the ICU. In addition, yesterday the death of a 90-year-old woman related to the covid was registered. The total number of confirmed deaths from this cause in Navarra stands at 932.

By zones, in Pamplona and its region, 57% of positive cases are registered, in the Tudela area, 22% of them, and in Estella, 10%. The other positives (11%) are spread over other areas of Navarra.

As for the areas or municipalities most affected, none has exceeded five cases. The Iturrama neighborhood of Pamplona leads the list with four positives, while Alsasua, Cordobilla, Tudela Este, Mutilva and the neighborhoods of San Juan and II Ensanche (Pamplona) have counted three each.

By age ranges of the new cases registered, the majority group is 30 to 44 years old, with 35%; followed by those aged 60 to 75, with 24%. Next, the group of people over 75 years old, which registered 14% of the cases and the 15-29 year old group, 13%. Finally, there is the group between 45 and 59 years old, with 8% and the group under fifteen years old, with 6%.

The average age of the new positives is 48.5 years. Regarding gender, 54% of the cases are women and the other 46%, men.

154 people remain admitted (the same as yesterday), 21 of whom are in ICU positions (one less than yesterday) and another 14 are in home hospitalization (the same as yesterday). The rest, 119 patients, are on the floor (one more than yesterday).

According to daily reports, the cumulative incidence of virus infections in Navarra stands at 41,238 cases.
 

Screening in Irurtzun

The Health Department will carry out a second screening in Irurtzun tomorrow Saturday, after the one carried out last Tuesday motivated by an outbreak of family origin with social and school ramifications. About 700 people in the 30-49 age range are called to the tests.

In the first screening, in which about 150 people were cited, 22 positives were detected which, added to 26 previous ones, made up an outbreak of 48 cases that Health continues to closely monitor together with municipal institutions and Primary Care. On the other hand, 9 classrooms remain confined to the local Atakondoa school.

School situation

A total of 176 schoolchildren have been confined in the last twenty-four hours. The current total number of isolated students is 923, which represents 1.49% of all Kindergarten and Primary students. By classrooms, there are 48 isolated in 28 centers. They represent 1.37% of the stable groups of coexistence.

The president of the Government of Navarra, María Chivite, has affirmed that the Executive will make decisions this Christmas on restrictions to mobility based on the specific figures of covid-19 infections.

In the Basque Country, infections and positivity have risen slightly. Thus, it has registered 465 new positives in coronavirus this Thursday, which is 69 more than the previous day and a slight increase in the positivity rate by five tenths, to 3.6%, with more tests carried out.
