Seat León

For years, it is nothing new that any size and mid-range model on the European market achieves 5 Euro NCAP stars. The fourth-generation Seat León has obtained the highest star rating in the famous crash tests.

Although crash tests are getting tougher and tougher, we must recognize the safety work of the brands. And the fact is that the current tests (and the real results if we compare them) have little to do with those that were carried out at the beginning of this XXI century.

But as we always say, we must not only keep the number of stars achieved in the crash tests, but we must go a little further. If we enter the EuroNCAP website we can see the breakdown into four sections, and even the specific score in each subsection.

Airbag central de serie Seat León

In this way, in the Seat compact we find that it has obtained 92% in protection for adult occupants, 88% for child occupants, a score of 71% in the event of a run over and no less than 80% in the apparatus of driving assistants.

In addition to active safety systems, the car company highlights that the high score in adult protection has been achieved, in part, thanks to the incorporation of a central airbag in the front seats. By the way, in total there are seven airbags that this model incorporates as standard.

Said central airbag of the Seat León is deployed preventing the heads of the front occupants from hitting each other. This system is especially important in cases of side impact. Of course, an impact between the two heads of the occupants can be really serious.

If you want to know all the details and our impressions with the Seat León, take a look at the video you have below, where we evaluate a five-door León with FR finish and the 48-volt micro-hybrid gasoline engine with 150 hp and DSG gearbox.
