It had already been announced that a new maximum point would be created for the performance of BMW, M for Motorsport and for the world of motorcycles, the first to have this letter is the already known S 1000 RR, now M 1000 RR that will come to compete in the WSBK. Let us remember that in order to participate in this "almost agency" motorcycle contest, it must be possible to market to the public with at least 500 units, so that five hundred users will be able to purchase it at a price not yet disclosed that will surely not be accessible at all.

 

 

 

 

When we saw it, we noticed the new downforce that it offers with the front wings that exert a load of 16.3 kg at 300 km / h, in addition the windshield dome is greater, so the driving position is more integrated with the "air cut" at speed.

 

 

As for the engine, the base model already has 207 hp, but it was squeezed to 212 at 14,000 rpm and a torque of 83 lb-ft at 11,000, which means that3 now works in a higher range of revolutions, which ideal for competitions where they always have the engine “up”. For these changes the compression of the block, lubrication by dry sump, forged pistons that weigh 12 grams less (yes, 12 grams) as well as valves and titanium connecting rods were improved.

 

 

 

The weight is obviously reduced thanks to the new engine parts, but it is also reduced by the titanium exhaust and various carbon fiber parts, such as the wheels, thus achieving 192 kg in running order on the scale, against the 197 kg of the conventional S1000RR, in addition to that the center of gravity of the M lowers, thus improving its cornering performance.

 

Being “a street bike” it will come with its already well-known 6.5-inch TFT screen with all the information about the bike, a rear USB port and, incidentally, heated grips. Obviously it will have optional equipment such as configurable electronics, competition exhaust and seat and even the track fairing that dispenses with the lights.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As if that were not enough, you will have four specific packages: M Competition Package: Silver anodized aluminum swingarm, M GPS transponder, M Endurance chain, and rear seat and footrest suppression. M Billet Package: Machined brake and clutch levers, footpegs, brake guard and engine guards. M Carbon Package: carbon covers for the rims, sprocket, chain guard, side fairings and tank. Passenger package: passenger seat, seat cover and rear footpegs.
