Lego Technic Jeep Wrangler ready for the yellow brick road
It sees the All-American off-roader join a range that includes modern supercars and classic muscle cars. The Lego Technic Land Rover Defender will now have a rival for the best brick-built 4×4.
The LEGO Technic Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is ready to get muddy!

Lego promises that the Wrangler Rubicon will offer those who build it the chance to engage in “endless off-road adventures”.

‘An icon in the off-road world’
That the Jeep Wrangler is a chunky, boxy, SUV certainly helps in the transition to Lego form. Rubicon trim is a more off-road biased version of the Wrangler, making it well-suited for an exciting build.

Like the real thing, the Lego Wrangler features suspension with extreme axle articulation, a substantial roll cage, and folding seats. Working steering can be operated at the press of a button, too.

Despite the Jeep brand hitting its 80th anniversary, this is the first time one of its vehicles has been officially released in Lego form. A trademark seven-slot front grille, plus Jeep decals, ensure it looks the real deal.

‘Fun, freedom and unbridled adventure’
Choosing the Wrangler as the basis for the first Lego Jeep seems to have been a relatively easy decision for all concerned. Mark Allen, Head of Jeep Design, commented that Wrangler owners are likely to admit “that their vehicle is just a bigger version of this new Lego set”.

Allen adds that: “The design of the Jeep Wrangler allows them to take it apart, top off, doors off, reconfigure it, add new pieces from our Mopar team, and then put it back together again.”

The new Lego Wrangler will be notably cheaper than the real version when it goes on sale, priced at £44.99 in the UK, and $49.99 in the USA.

Sadly, like many of the latest Lego releases, it will not be on the market in time for Christmas. Instead, sales will begin on 1st January 2021.
