"President Sebastián Piñera has resolved to denounce himself, with the objective of carrying out the corresponding administrative procedure for sanitary control," said the Presidency, because at the time "there were no officials from the Seremi supervising.

The Government reported that President Sebastián Piñera will denounce himself after the controversy generated by not wearing a mask while walking on the beach in Cachagua, and where he took pictures with people without the protector.

According to the Presidency through a statement, "given that there were no officials of the Health Seremi supervising in that place, President Sebastián Piñera has resolved to self-report, with the aim of carrying out the administrative procedure for health control that corresponds ".

At the same time, spokesperson Jaime Bellolio told Cooperativa that the President "made the decision and has already contacted the authority of the Health Seremi and that will happen in the next few hours. He is going to make that self-report."

 

 

Bellolio stressed that the process consists of "an administrative offense without prejudice to the fact that they were not auditing right there."

He added that Piñera himself "will enter that letter of self-report, which could be called, in front of the administrative authority."

In the same way, he stressed that the President walked a large part of the route without people nearby, but that at the end of it people approached him to ask for photographs.

"He admits that it was a mistake, that he should have put on a mask," Bellolio said.

Remember that the authority apologized through its Instagram account for what happened and gave its version of why at that time it did not respect the sanitary measures.

"Yesterday I went for a walk on the beach, which I had not done since last year. The walk was quite lonely until some people recognized me and asked me to take a picture," he said.

There, he added that "without a doubt I should have put on the mask, but because of the speed with which the events occurred I did not do it and it was a mistake that I regret and I apologize."

Finally, Píñera said that "without a doubt, personal care is very important to avoid new infections and we must all respect them."
