[Auto] Nissan Kicks MY21 debut for USA announced in this teaser video

Although many may believe so, Nissan was not the first firm to discover the phenomenon of SUVs. Others, such as Toyota or Land Rover, arrived before but none was as commercially successful as the Japanese. This is because it was not until the first delivery of the Qashqai was successful that they received the recognition they deserved. Now it is a pioneer and has forced all manufacturers to adapt their ranges to reach their customers.

In Europe there is no one who can with the Qashqai. The Juke segment is more fierce and there it has had to give up its throne. We have seen this in India or the US where it has had to adapt and change its name. Here the Nissan Kicks is sold, a product that in its last generation has evolved so much that it could well succeed in Europe. The new generation was recently introduced for Thailand and now it does the same for the Yankees.

It was in 2018 when the American division of Nissan decided to replace the maligned Juke with the previous Kicks. The sales success was not long in coming and with this new installment they want to replicate it. And this happens to carry out the official presentation of the second generation of Nissan Kicks. To announce their arrival, the brand's communication team has not broken their heads, they have published a teaser video announcing the official date.

The event is scheduled for next December 8. The duration of the clip is only six seconds so there is no time to see many details of the Kicks. However, you don't have to be a lynx to understand that it will be very, very similar to the one we already know. Just take a look at the image that accompanies the press release to see that the design and layout of its Full LED headlamps are very similar. But there are more details.

The first has to do with the design of the V-Motion grille. It is not appreciated very well but it seems the same as the current Kicks. The position and format of the rear view mirrors is similar as are the roof bars or tension lines of the front hood. However, it is logical that they also introduce modifications in certain details. The reason is simple: Although the Nissan Kicks is a global product, it must appeal to a very different audience.

Something similar will happen for the interior, although we should not expect high-quality materials since Americans do not usually notice them. For now Nissan does not announce how the range of engines will be composed. In all likelihood the e-POWER hybrid powertrain that we have seen in the Asian version will be present. We will have to wait for news, although in a matter of days we will have doubts.
