When John Zachary DeLorean founded the DeLorean Motor Company and gave orders for the DMC-12 to be designed, he never thought it would become a part of automotive history. It is true that the adventures of the brand and model would make for a movie but thanks to the fact that it came out in the "Back to the Future" trilogy we have not been able to forget it. To this must be added that several businessmen have tried to refloat the brand and sell it again.

All these vicissitudes have kept the spirit of DeLorean very present. And it seems that we will not be able to leave it behind and more when you see this reinterpretation in a modern key of the design of the DMC-12. If we take a look at the snapshots we can see that the foundations are so good and solid that with a little desire and the necessary budget it could be resurrected. And be very careful that the design is "made in Spain". Didn't you know? ...

This DeLorean DMC-12 has been designed by the Spanish Ángel Cuesta

This reinvention of the design worn by the original DeLorean DMC-12 is the work of the great Ángel Cuesta. His name may not sound like anything to you, but thanks to his efforts he has participated in the design of the Rimac Concept 2. However, now that four decades have passed since the original DMC-12 was born, he has decided to pay this tribute to him. The reason for this is simple: Back to the Future marked his childhood and passion for cars.

This project, which, unfortunately, will not go on the assembly line, has been developed in his spare time. In the words of Cuesta himself ...

Be that as it may, this modernization is really good, especially since it retains some details of the original design. In addition, it modifies some and introduces many new ones that help make this new DMC-12 even more futuristic. Among the essentials is the visible stainless steel bodywork or the gull-wing opening doors. Among the novelties we have lines less straight than in the original, the elimination of the optical groups (replaced by a thin LED strip) or the change of exterior dimensions.
