#Steeven.™ Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 And just as there are many causes, there are also many ways to help the digestive system function optimally. The nutritionists at The Real Food Dietitians give us 4 ways to improve digestion in a natural way. These are 4 ways to improve digestion 1. Change your eating habits: The way we eat has a great impact on the functioning of your digestive system. By changing certain habits it is possible to drastically improve digestion. For example: Eat in a relaxed atmosphere and focus only on eating, avoid eating when you are upset or in a bad mood, chew each bite of food very well before swallowing. The act of chewing is often one of the most overlooked steps in the digestive process, but it should not be taken lightly. 2. Hydrate yourself correctly: Water is very important for proper digestion. This helps digest solid food and properly absorb nutrients. But it is better to drink it between meals because if it is done when eating, the water dilutes the acid in the stomach and this is vital for good digestion. It is recommended to drink enough water every day and preferably plain water. An average person should consume 6 to 8 glasses of water a day. 3. Try probiotics: Probiotics are beneficial strains of bacteria that live in the digestive system. These bacteria do not cause disease but they do contribute to a healthy intestinal flora. Probiotics aid digestion by breaking down food, helping prevent infection, and reducing chronic inflammation. The main foods with probiotics are kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha. 4. Eliminate artificial foods: Excess toxins in the body can cause digestive problems for many people. Eliminate foods that create inflammation in the body and add natural foods, which are more nutritious. Avoid artificial sweeteners as they have been shown to drastically alter the intestinal flora. Eat fewer processed foods as they are packed with artificial ingredients that provide no digestion benefit. In addition, preservatives can cause kidney and liver damage. Eliminate gluten and processed soy as these two foods tend to cause allergies. 3
