[Auto] Nissan X-Terra: The evolution of the Terra is closer to its range brothers

If there is a firm that has a good reputation in the development and manufacture of off-road vehicles, it is Nissan. The Japanese house has been offering models for years that have known how to satisfy the needs of those who need to reach the end of the world. One of the most legendary and recognized by the public is the Terrano, although over the years its range has evolved. The proof is in the launch of the new Nissan X-Terra.

If you do a bit of memory you must remember the Terra. We already talked to you about this all-terrain some time ago, but now we must mention it. The reason for this is very simple: X-Terra and Terra are very close. So much so, that the new one is the evolution of the old one although its commercial name has changed slightly. But be careful, it has nothing to do with the Xterra that was sold five years ago, since its platform is that of the current Navara.

Nissan X-Terra shares genes with current generation Navara

If we look at the image of the Nissan X-Terra we see how those responsible have adapted the latest aesthetic code of the brand. Thus we find some revised optical groups that, inside, adopt LED technology. The V-Motion front grille is more aggressive and bold, adopting lots of chrome for garnish. The bumper also assumes more solid and marked lines, especially in the lower bumper and anti-fog zone.

The side view maintains much of the lines that defined the Terra. The main changes that it assumes are in the addition of new alloy wheels or various trims. Finally we must take a look behind. Here if there is a greater evolution, as it adopts optical groups that, as in the front ones, integrate LED technology. Another change is found in the location and size of the X-Terra logo that passes to the center of the gate.

Inside you can see that technology and connectivity have evolved a lot. And not only that, because the configuration of the dashboard is very current. Thus, we can see how it adopts a new central touch screen of 11 inches (in low middle position) or a cooler and more intuitive instrument panel. Nor can we ignore the position and design of controls such as the climate control or the steering wheel.

Regarding the interior capacity, it maintains a cabin enabled for six passengers. Also, as in the new Note e-POWER, it includes Zero Gravity seats to reduce fatigue. Finally, the mechanical range is made up of the 2.5-liter gasoline block that develops 165 hp and 241 Nm of maximum torque. The 4WD all-wheel drive with locking rear differential will not be lacking as well as the Hill Descent Control or Hill Start Assist systems.
