_Happy boy
Awards season is upon us and Cyberpunk 2077 hasn't even released yet. That puts us and a lot of outlets in a bit of an awkward position, but the Golden Joysticks have gone first with their celebration of 2020's best games. And The Last of Us: Part II came out on top by a very, very wide margin, bagging itself five awards including Ultimate Game of the Year. The Last of Us: Part II won in the Ultimate Game of the Year, PlayStation Game of the Year, Best Visual Design, Best Storytelling, and Best Audio categories. Thoroughly well deserved. Naughty Dog also took home the trophy for the best gaming studio of 2020, which must be the cherry on top for the developer. We expect this sort of praise to continue at next month's The Game Awards. The team took to Twitter to mark the occasion, thanking everyone who voted. We're so incredibly honored to have The Last of Us Part II win Ultimate Game of the Year, @PlayStation Game of the Year, Best Visual Design, Best Storytelling, Best Audio, and to be named Best Studio at The @GoldenJoysticks. Congrats to the team and thanks to all that voted! pic.twitter.com/Cv4xo13sP0— Naughty Dog (@Naughty_Dog) November 24, 2020 Elsewhere, Fall Guys won first place in both the Best Multiplayer Game and Best Family Game categories, Sandra Saad of Marvel's Avengers' Kamala Khan won the award for Best Performer, and God of War Ragnarok even got in on the action after being voted the Most Wanted Game. How many more awards will The Last of Us 2 win over the next few months? Raise a toast to the game in the comments below.
