With this, Hyundai begins to participate in the business and infrastructure of high-power chargers, which are also powered by renewable energy sources.

Hyundai Motor Group announced that it is linked as a strategic partner and shareholder of Ionity, the leading high power charging network (HPC) in Europe. This alliance, which involves the Hyundai and Kia brands, will drive the expansion of said network in the Old Continent, favoring and promoting the adoption of zero-emission mobility.

Because the Ionity network uses 100% renewable energy, electric vehicle drivers can not only travel emission-free, but also CO2-neutral. It is worth noting that this infrastructure uses the European cargo standard CCS (Combined Cargo System).

Ionity was founded in 2017 and is a joint venture involving some of the largest conglomerates in the industry, including the BMW Group, Mercedes Benz AG, Ford Motor Company, Hyundai Motor Group and Volkswagen Group, with Audi and Porsche.

The company builds and operates a high-power charging network (HPC) along European roads, using state-of-the-art technology with a charging capacity of up to 350 kW. Thanks to the use of the leading European CCS charging standard, users benefit from the maximum charging speed, in stations that have an average of four connection points.
