[Sport] Facundo Campazzo, to the NBA: his assists show before the news was confirmed and why he will be able to use his favorite number in Denver Nuggets

Facundo Campazzo will fulfill his dream and will play for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA. He will have a protected contract of two years and an extra: thanks to a carambola of destiny, the Mar del Plata guard will be able to use his preferred number, 7, with his new team. All, thanks to a movement of players that finished being resolved in the last hours. The Argentine will have everything to feel comfortable in his new home.

The star fruit has a first and last name: Mason Plumlee. The Indiana-born center just got sent to Detroit by the Nuggets. The Duke University trained player owned jersey 7. And this year it had been changed to 24 as a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant. He had both numbers reserved, so if Campazzo shared a dressing room with Plumlee he would not have been able to wear 7. But the pivot is gone and the Mar del Plata will wear his favorite number.

Campazzo's predecessor as Real Madrid's "7", the Slovenian Luka Doncic, congratulated the Argentine on his arrival in the most important league in the world. He did so by commenting on a tweet in which the Nuggets' hiring of the Mar del Plata was taken for granted. Now, the two friends will be direct rivals, since Doncic is the figure of the Dallas Mavericks, who also compete in the Western conference of the Nuggets.

The Argentine Basketball Confederation (CABB) also echoed the new milestone in Campazzo's career and congratulated him through a post on his official Twitter profile. The message included a video with a review of his career, both in Peñarol de Mar del Plata and in the selected one.

Away from everything, and oblivious to the negotiations to define his future, Campazzo once again demonstrated his NBA level. It was during Real Madrid's 94-74 over Fenerbahce, from Turkey, for the tenth round of the Euroleague. A couple of hours before the news of his arrival in the NBA was known, the Argentine gave twelve assists during the 29 minutes he was on the court. His roster included 7 points (2-3 in doubles, 1-5 in triples), a rebound and three ball recoveries.

The dozen decisive passes equaled what was made two days ago, against Maccabi Tel Aviv (the Whites' victory 79-63), but he is seven away from his best record, the unmatched 19 assists during 103-97 against Alba Berlin , from Germany, during the 19-20 edition of the Euroleague, which was not finished.
