Herbalife Gran Canaria qualified this Wednesday for the Top-16 of the Eurocup by defeating Cedevita Olimpija Liubliana by 90-82 in an intense duel full of alternatives that was decided in the last bars thanks to the outside success of the yellows.

Despite the 47 points of the Blazic-Perry duo, the islanders appealed to the epic even with the absence, for personal reasons, of Jacob Wiley, and Javier Beirán, due to technical decision, and with five players over the ten points and with a 51.9% success in the triples.

In a brilliant start, the Claretian team went from taking the initiative on the scoreboard with a 6-0 start to receiving a 1-7 partial from Olimpia. From there, the points of Khalifa Diop and Matt Costello in the painting were answered by the wrist of the American Kendrick Perry, who, with 8 points in the first quarter, kept the Slovenian ship until placing 16-16 on the electronic.

The picture was twisted for the yellows in the second act. After a precocious basket from Dimsa, Olimpia hooked a 0-9 partial that woke up the first local alarms (18-25). Rion Brown took over from Perry to cause a sudden short circuit in Porfirio Fisac's tactical fabric.

However, two triples from Albicy and Dimsa stopped the bleeding again (24-25). Blazic tried to stretch the gum in favor of Olimpia, but Herbalife began to carburete with the youth squad Diop and the versatility of Okoye to change the sign of the match (41-40).

In the resumption, the outside shot of Gran Canaria jumped to the fore to put land in the middle. Ferrari, Okoye, Dimsa and even Costello - the ceiling of the team by centimeters - were encouraged to a particular triples recital that caused the visiting coach, Jurica Golemac, to time out in the middle of the third period (57-47).

A 0-9 rally for Slovenians caused local income to disappear (63-62). Perry took up the stripes again and left Herbalife trembling in the trench again. It was a mirage, since the island perimeter was still on the same line (68-62) thanks to the launches of Albicy and Shurna.

In the final round, the Ljubljana team launched their last blow (83-81) but Blazic and Brown's effort faded in the final minutes. The outside shot gave oxygen once more to the islands to score a soothing victory in Europe (90-82).
