Jonathan Adler’s home is the epitome of maximalist glamour. The American potter, designer and decorator, who launched his now hugely successful brand in 1998, is renowned for his witty and glamorous designs, a trademark that shines through in every facet of his home. Bold-patterned fabrics adorn each corner, along with statement lighting and slogan cushions on the sofas and chairs. But if you peer beyond the vibrant designs you will often spot the couple’s glamorous rescue dog FoxyLady, either draped across a Vladimir Kagan sofa clad in ivory bouclé, chasing miniature tennis balls across a chequerboard floor, or curled up on a mid-century modern chair.

The place is brimming with character: colourful objects on the surfaces, curious eyes adorn the walls (and even poke out from a non-functioning fireplace) and lighting of all shapes and sizes illuminates the rooms.

Jonathan and Simon have lived in the apartment for 25 years, but its current look is the result of a renovation 18 months ago. Each room was repurposed, with the couple’s bedroom becoming Simon’s office and the old living room the bedroom. Once things settled, they set about furnishing the space with newly designed cushions, lamps and furniture. The design goal was ‘bold and glamorous’.35143580-0-The_kitchen_was_designed_by_b

The kitchen was designed by bilotta.com. The cabinet handles were all carved out of clay by Jonathan in his studio and then cast in solid brass
