[Auto] Toyota C-HR "refreshes" slightly for 2021

Toyota has made some changes to its hybrid crossover, the Toyota C-HR. It is not a generational change and it is not a major restyling. Rather, it is a slight update, but whose improvements come in the security, connectivity and equipment sections.

The Toyota C-HR is a vital model for the Japanese firm. It is one of the brand's best-selling cars in Europe, and the best-selling in Spain, so Toyota must take great care of this hybrid crossover. Let's see what changes this Model Year 2021 really presents.

 

Security, connectivity and efficiency
The C-HR expands your roster of driving assistants with the integration of the involuntary lane departure warning with active assistant and trajectory maintenance system. As in many other models, this system works by complementing the adaptive cruise control, keeping the car in the center of the lane and adapting the speed to maintain a correct safety distance with the preceding car.

On the other hand, all the new Toyota C-HR will carry the acoustic warning system AVAS -Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System-. This audible signal alerts pedestrians to the presence of the vehicle when driving at low speed in EV mode.

At the data communication level, the MY2021 introduces a new DCM -Data Communications Module-. Thanks to it, the brand's MyT application allows you to carry out a GPS trace of the vehicle. If there is a change of location we will receive a notification by the app telling us where it is. Also with this app you can check systems such as lights, windows, door locks and information on possible breakdowns.

The only update on a mechanical level is that the less powerful version, the 125H, introduces a gasoline particle filter to reduce polluting emissions, which are already generally low in this type of vehicle.

The last detail of incorporation in the Toyota C-HR MY21 is that the two-tone Kaji orange color is no longer available only in the special Kaji Edition version, but is extended by the rest of the variants. Not many months ago we tested the C-HR 180H in that Kaji Edition version.
