Malus au poids : le Dacia Duster est-il concerné ?

The government will introduce a new penalty as of January 1, 2020: the weight penalty. A way like any other to recover on the one hand what the government gives to consumers on the other. All under the guise of the ecological argument. Let’s look today at the case of the Dacia Duster. Is the very po[CENSORED]r SUV affected by this ecological penalty? Answer below.

In order not to play the card of unnecessary false suspense, know that the Dacia Duster is not affected by the new weight penalty. Indeed, the SUV weighs empty between 1,191 and 1,400 kg according to manufacturer data. We are therefore far from the 1,800 kg mark for which this new tax will come into force on January 1. This is good news for consumers.

This new penalty, which is added to the ecological penalty at the time of purchase, therefore concerns combustion vehicles weighing 1,800 kg and more. It will be € 10 per kilo from this limit. It will not, however, concern electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Vehicles penalized by the weight of the battery. It would not have made sense to offer an ecological bonus of € 6,000 in 2021 and a weight penalty at the same time. On the other hand, we can bet that this weight penalty will change in the years to come to reach the initial objective of the Citizen's Climate Convention, which had set it at 1,400 kg!
