  From the mid-1960s on, he and Jagger became the creative engine of the Stones, composing almost all of the group's songs since that time, and on some occasions playing lead vocals. Rolling Stone magazine lists fourteen songs written by the Jagger / Richards duo in its Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

  Although he has developed almost his entire musical career as a member of this English group, like Jagger, he also materialized his solo project X-Pensive Winos and joined the band The New Barbarians along with his partner stone Ronnie Wood.
