In 1983, readers of Guitar Player magazine voted him the best young talent and the best blues electric guitarist. In 1984 The Blues Foundation named him the best instrumentalist of the year and in 1987 Performance magazine named him the blues musician of the year. He won six Grammy Awards and ten Austin Music Awards and was posthumously inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2000 and into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2014. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him No. 12 among the greatest guitarists of all time.1 In 2015, Vaughan and his band Double Trouble were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
