"We are accelerating Acura's commitment to the Precision Crafted Performance philosophy and this fourth generation MDX is the most ambitious and consequential redesign of a core Acura model in our history," said Jon Ikeda, Acura Vice President and Chief Brand Officer. "This completely revamped MDX will take us into new territory in terms of performance, prestige and emotional appeal." The pre-launch image and video [acura.us/MDXPrototype1] highlight the clearly sculpted line that runs around the perimeter of the MDX, wider, lower and longer, connecting the Jewel Eye LED headlights with the Chicane LED taillights. . The original MDX was the industry's first three-row SUV to be based on a single-body platform, offering maximum comfort, space, and driving performance. This model received significant accolades, including North American Truck of the Year 2001 and Motor Trend 2001 eSUV of the Year. Over the past two decades, cumulative sales have exceeded 1 million units, securing the MDX's position as the top model.
