#Steeven.™ Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 Milan complied with the procedure that separated them from playing for Europe this season, and after a year of drought they will play in European competition. The Italian team beat the Portuguese Rio Ave in an endless penalty shoot-out in which the locals had three penalties to qualify. The Italians complicated a game that began winning thanks to a goal from Saelemaekers and that Geraldes tied it and sent it to extra time. In overtime, an early goal by Gelson gave Rio Ave qualification, but a Borevkivic child penalty on the last play brought Calhanoglu to a draw. In the round of penatis, Rio Ave had it in his hand up to three times but failed. And Donnarumma saved the decisive penalty to Aderlan. Very little happened in the first half. Pioli placed Manuel Maldini, Paolo's son, at the top of the attack to make up for Ibrahimovic's loss, and Castillejo and Theo were also in the game. But neither the Italians nor the Portuguese put Kieszek and Donnarumma in trouble. After the break, Pioli gave entry to Brahim, and the Malaga player shook up the game. In the 51st minute came Milan's goal. A great play by Brahim caused the corner in favor of Milan. Calhanoglu crossed and the rejection fell to Saelemaekers on the edge, who at the first touch connected a powerful low shot to the left post. The Rossoneris continued to dominate the game, and had the opportunity to increase the rent with a free kick by Calhanoglu that hit the stick. However, what came was the Rio Ave tie. Lucas Piazon went into the right wing and put a low ball behind, and Geraldes shot Donnarumma's goal. Minute 72 and everything matched. Milan tried in the final stretch and had opportunities to win the game, but the lack of accuracy in the definition caused the game to go into extra time. And very soon the tie was broken. 28 seconds into extra time, Gelson took advantage of a long ball to stand in front of Donnarumma and hit him with a cross shot. There was still a lot left. 29 minutes ahead for Milan to turn the score around. Pioli put Colombo on the field, but they were unable to get the equalizer. And he ended up getting it on the last play of the match, thanks to a child penalty from Borevkovic. Calhanoglu did not miss and sent the game to the penalty shootout. In the penalty shootout, Milan and Rio Ave scored their five penalties, which led to sudden death. There Colombo threw the seventh pitch into the clouds, giving Monte the opportunity to be the hero, but chance wanted his shot to touch both sticks and not finish inside the goal. Another life for Milan. The eighth was about to stop Donnarumma, but despite touching it he ended up inside. It was the goalkeeper himself who was in charge of taking the next penalty and sent it sky high. Second chance for Rio Ave to get into the Europa League, but Kieszek failed. The first pitchers began to throw again and Bennacer did not score. Third chance for the Portuguese and another they wasted. Geraldes sent him to the post. And the one who forgives ends up paying it. Kjaer scored next and Donnarumma saved Aderlan's penalty. Milan will be in Europe. 4
