Sancho has not flown with the rest of the Dortmund squad for the German Super Cup in Munich against Bayern due to a "respiratory infection". He has tested negative for Covid-19.

A bid was expected from the Premier League club this week, but all of the noises coming from Dortmund would suggest Sancho is staying in Germany.Earlier on Tuesday, Dortmund captain Marco Reus told Sky in Germany Sancho is staying for one more year.'Sancho still United's number one target'
"Sancho is still the number one target at United and there is still hope a deal can be struck despite Dortmund's insistence the player stays," Dharmesh Sheth told the Transfer Show."United will hope Sancho's willingness to come to Old Trafford can still be a huge factor in negotiations.

"That said, our United reporter James Cooper is getting information that there is a lot more work going on to secure an alternative to Sancho - though it's all quiet on who those potential alternatives would be.

"One player who could be impacted by an arrival is Daniel James.

"He wants to stay and fight for his place - but knows he will be pushed down the pecking order if Sancho or another player was to arrive.

"Leeds United remain interested having made an offer to take him on loan."
