Janc, durante un lanzamiento.

Barcelona swept the Palau Blaugrana against Slovenian Celje in the Champions League. The speed in the counterattacks and the spectacular performance of Janc, who scored seven goals and only missed two shots, Aleix Gómez or Mem, among others, dislodged the rival after the break. The Slovenians suffered greatly protecting their goal.

The good role of the wingers catapulted Barcelona in the early stages of the game (7-2, min.7). The Celje wall did not react to the host's quick transitions. The difference grew to six goals, but the intensity of the culés did not remain. The Catalans relaxed in defense and Novak and Leban cut the Barça mattress at the Palau (13-11, min.20).

In any case, Xavi Pascual's men kept the rival at bay and there were no surprises: Janc, with two goals in a row, put Barça up six again (20-14, min.28). Finally, Dolenec put the finishing touch before the break, making clear the local superiority (21-14).

In the resumption, Celje improved in containment tasks in the face of the Barça offensive avalanche, although his success did not modify the light. Barça, predictably, wasted no time in punishing the opponent's lack of success with a 5-0 run starring Mem and Aleix Gómez. The distance was already blushing (28-18, min.38).

In this last section, the Catalans gained further distance, leaving Celje no option to make up the setback. Barcelona did not want to leave anything to chance in their first match of the continental competition at the Palau.

"We are a team that runs a lot, what we like is to be strong in defense and go against it," said Aleix Gómez, satisfied with the victory. "It is a shame to have to do the games without an audience, but safety comes first. Let's see if little by little everything becomes normal," said the Catalan.
