#Steeven.™ Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 Any news, launch or update of Ferrari always raises expectations. In fact, even we are excited to write these lines. Today we are pleased to introduce you to the new Ferrari Portofino M, the evolution of Maranello's Gran Turismo convertible that has already been on the market for three years. Although the aesthetic changes of this evolution are not very noticeable, basically the bumpers and some other detail are timidly modified, the Ferrari Portofino M improves a lot. There are important evolutions in its technique, as well as higher performance from its V8 biturbo engine. By the way, we remember that the addition "M" in Ferrari names means "Modificata". The most evocative component of all Ferrari is the engine. The Portofino M receives a series of improvements to its 3.9-liter biturbo V8 that raises its power to 620 hp. The brand has commented, among other improvements, new profiles of the camshafts, as well as a new interior speed sensor that measures the rotation of the turbine. The engine torque remains at 760 Nm. Also, the gearbox is completely new. It is an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the previous one had seven relationships. Ferrari says that it reduces its dimensions by 20%, while it is capable of transmitting 35% more torque. The software has been "polished" and with the eighth gear more contained consumption is achieved, especially on motorways. Overall, the Ferrari Portofino M is capable of 0-100 km / h in 3.45 seconds (slightly faster than before) and 0-200 in 9.8. If we continue with the right pedal for several more seconds we will reach 320 km / h, its top speed. We agree that the Ferrari Portofino M is not the company's model of the prancing horse more geared towards extreme driving. Despite this, they have introduced a manettino with five positions. The driving modes are Wet, Comfort, Sport, Race and ESP-Off. With them we have a very suitable car for all kinds of circumstances. 5
