The Volkswagen Golf GTI is one of those models that many enthusiasts eagerly await whenever there is an update or renovation. As is usual in the Golf, the GTI is not the fastest on the circuit or the one that transmits the best sporting sensations, but it achieves that balance between discretion, performance and usability on a day-to-day basis.

It has been several months since Volkswagen presented the eighth generation of the Golf GTI. However, for some reasons or others, the German brand had not started the commercialization of this compact sports car in our country, having done it a few days ago in Germany. We already have the price of the new GTI for Spain. How much does the desired compact with the mythical acronym GTI cost?

 

If you want a new GTI, you have to scratch your pocket

Volkswagen begins marketing the eighth generation of the Volkswagen Golf GTI with its 245 hp version and DSG gearbox. This variant has a starting price that is not suitable for all pockets. You have to pay 42,290 euros according to the official rate, so it seems like a somewhat expensive car. In any case, for several generations it has not been a precisely affordable model, even in non-sports Volkswagen Golfs.

On the other hand, VW claims that it will later be available with the six-speed manual transmission, which will allow them to lower the starting price of their new GTI. We estimate that this manual version will be between 40,000 and 40,500 euros, although it is yet to be confirmed.

 

And by the end of the year, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport

In addition to the "normal" GTI variants, at the end of the year we will be able to acquire the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport, which will be the top of the range. In this case, the well-known 2.0 TSI petrol block increases its power to 300 hp. Yes, it is the same version that we can see in other models of the German manufacturer, such as the Cupra León or the Cupra Ateca, among others.

At the moment we do not know the price of the next GTI Clubsport, although it will be noticeably more expensive than the normal GTI. It should be borne in mind that in addition to the 55 extra horses, it will also have components more oriented to sporty driving and on the track, as well as a more radical set-up. It will have better brakes, suspensions, differentiated aesthetics and, most likely, a mechanical limited-slip differential.
