The Arab League rejects and condemns the Turkish interventions in Libya, Syria and Iraq

 

The Council of the League of Arab States condemned Turkish interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, calling on the Turkish side not to interfere in the internal affairs of Arab countries and to desist from provocative actions that undermine confidence-building and threaten the security and stability of the region.
In its decisions issued at the end of its meeting - which was held today remotely with the participation of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs - the Council affirmed its rejection and condemnation of Turkish military interventions in the state of Libya, as well as its rejection and condemnation of Turkey's transfer of foreign terrorist fighters to the Libyan lands, as this constitutes A direct threat to Arab national security and international peace and security, and a clear violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions.
In its resolution under the title “Turkish Interferences in the Internal Affairs of the Arab States Members of the Arab League,” the Council stressed its rejection and condemnation of the Turkish aggression on the Syrian territories, as it is a clear violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter and Security Council resolutions that call for preserving the unity and independence of Syria, especially Resolution 2254, and considers it a direct threat. For Arab national security and international peace and security.
The Council rejected and condemned the incursion of Turkish forces into Iraqi lands as an attack on Arab national security, calling on the Turkish side to withdraw all its forces present on the lands of Arab countries.
The Council requested the Secretary-General to make contact with the Secretary-General of the United Nations to transfer the content of this resolution and distribute it to the members of the United Nations as an official document, and to continue mandating the Arab Group in New York to discuss ways to address the Turkish aggression against Arab countries within the United Nations bodies, especially the Security Council.
The Council welcomed the formation of the Arab Ministerial Committee on Turkish interventions in the internal affairs of the Arab countries, which consist of Egypt as president and the membership of the Kingdom, the Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq and the Secretary-General of the League in order to follow up on Turkish interventions in Arab affairs and submit its recommendations to the Ministerial Council.
The Council agreed to include the Turkish interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries as a permanent item on the agenda of the League Ministerial Council, while four other countries expressed reservations.
