Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City, announced his support for Ronald Koeman, the new coach of Barcelona, after assuming the leadership of the Catalan team.

On Wednesday, Barcelona announced the assignment of the coaching position to Koman, following the dismissal of Quique Setien from his post.

Pep Guardiola showed his happiness in taking Coman coaching Barcelona, as he congratulated him on his Twitter account, saying: "I wish you all the best in this world, Ronald."

According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Ronald Koeman received many congratulations after announcing his assumption of the leadership of Barcelona.

And she concealed several attempts by Barcelona's administration to appoint Koeman as technical director of the team, until the official order coincided with the most complicated moments for the Catalan team, specifically after the painful and historic defeat against Bayern Munich, 8-2.

The former Barcelona players showed their satisfaction with the arrival of Coman, who is one of the legends of the club, and the well-wishers advanced the former captain of the team Carles Puyol, and then followed by Pep Guardiola, who has a strong friendship with the Dutch coach.

Guardiola played with Koeman in Barcelona in the golden era of Johan Cruyff in the early 1990s.

Spain coach Luis Enrique confirmed on Thursday that Ronald Koeman's mentality is similar to that of his new team, Barcelona.

Luis Enrique knows Barcelona well, as he played for Blaugrana between 1996 and 2004, and led the youth team and first team as coach between 2014 and 2017.

At the same time, Enrique advised Koeman by saying that in the case of leading a large team, "you have to control the dressing room" in order for the results to be positive.

After a white season in terms of titles, Barcelona's board of directors decided to appoint Ronald Koeman as the new coach of the team next season.

And Enrique added: "Barcelona coaching is great news for Koeman because it is great fun. There is a rest for 30 days in a row, but after that you have to manage the dressing room."

He stated at a press conference: "I had a relationship with him as a player; he has a Dutch mentality that is similar to that of Barcelona. He knows how to hire young players, but we know what it means to manage big teams, which is different from the rest."

Enrique played down the poor season presented by his previous team, and justified the negative results as a "usual course" that occurs in the world of football.

And he continued his remarks by saying, "This happens to all major clubs at some point in their history."

He concluded: "Now come more difficult moments, but I have no doubt that Barcelona will overcome these moments and win titles. When? It is everyone's question, and I have no answer."
