Chevrolet Bolt EV and new Chevrolet Bolt EUV teaser

Remember when General Motors gave the green light to the first Chevrolet Volt? This model, together with the Opel Ampera-e, was a pioneer in terms of electrification. However, the market and customers were not yet ready to receive such a special product. After him came the Bolt (with B), a kind of second generation with different genes that, unlike the first, did have the opportunity to succeed in its market.

In Europe they did not let him, because General Motors sold Opel to the PSA Group and canceled its sale. Now, when electrics have changed tack again, we are about to meet the new Chevrolet Bolt EV. Yes, because the third generation of this model mutates again to adapt to customer tastes. And you wonder how? If you take a look at the two teasers that General Motors has published you will understand.

The new Chevrolet Bolt EV unfolds its offer in two versions

The way General Motors will adapt the new Chevrolet Bolt EV is by launching two body versions. First of all, it will keep the minivan format that we already know. The reason for this is simple: it offers plenty of space to accommodate batteries and passengers. However, the emergence of SUVs in this category has forced them to create a new commercial concept that they have dubbed EUV “Electric Utility Vehicle”.

If you look at the teaser video that is on these lines you can understand what this strategy consists of. Indeed, the idea is to launch a Chevrolet Bolt EV minivan and a little brother with SUV's airs named EUV. In this way, they can serve a larger volume of clients, attracting the attention of traditional families and also those more active who enjoy going out to the fields and open spaces.

One of the few data that General Motors has offered on the new Bolt EV and Bolt EUV has to do with their equipment. According to the press release issued, this model will be the first Chevrolet vehicle to have the Super Cruise driving system. But they go one step further, calling it the first truly hands-free road driving technology in the automotive industry.

The second published data has to do with the date of entry into production. According to the plans of the American manufacturer, both vehicles will go into production in the summer of 2021. We will have to wait a little longer to find out new details, although this would be one of the electric vehicles that we would like to see circulate in Europe. Don't you think?
