ITS OZX- Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 The BMW M8 Gran Coupe debuts at this week's Los Angeles Auto Show. The automaker's factory in Dingolfing, Germany, is already building the high-performance sedan, and sales in markets like Germany begin in January. The M8 Gran Coupe takes the existing 8 Series sedan and improves its performance. The base version boasts a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 making 600 hp (447 kW) and 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-meters) of torque, which allows for a sprint to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.1 seconds. There's also the even hotter Competition grade with 617 hp (460 kW) and 553 lb-ft, and the extra power shaves the run to 60 mph to 3.0 seconds. Regardless of the model, the four-door comes with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The M8 sedans also gain adaptive dampers and improved brakes. Larger, carbon-ceramic discs are an additional option. The body looks a bit different, too, including a wider rear track and carbon-fiber roof.
