Apex-Legends-Season-6-Armor-Changes-Evo-

One of the biggest changes which launched today as part of Apex Legends Season 6 is a major Armor rework. Alongside the launch of Rampartchanges to World’s Edge, and so on, Respawn is also changing how armor works throughout Apex Legends. From now on, all armor besides Gold Armor will automatically be Evo Armor.

The Changes to Armor in Apex Legends Season 6

“With Season 6,” explains Respawn; “we’re introducing some big changes to the way armor works in the game. First off, all armor in the game is Evo Armor (except the Gold Armor). When you find a white, blue, or purple armor on the ground, it’s a pre-leveled Evo Armor. It can be picked up like normal, and continue to be evolved. Red Armor is not in the ground loot and can only be achieved through evolving.”

Apex Legends Season 6 Armor Changes Evo Armor 2

Alongside this change, all players will now spawn with level 0 Evo Armor. This means that you won’t necessarily need to pick up armor when you initially drop; if you damage opponents, that starting armor will eventually upgrade to White Armor anyway. The only armor which is not Evo Armor now is Gold Armor, which players will still be able to find in rare loot locations as before. The damage requirements to upgrade Evo Armor have also changed. To upgrade level 0 armor to White Armor, you need to deal 50 damage. 125 damage will upgrade White Armor to Blue, 250 will upgrade Blue to Purple, and finally, 500 damage will upgrade Purple Armor to Red.

However, while armor will now be more accessible, and players will be able to improve their armor more easily, armor has also gotten a general debuff to counterbalance these changes. Every type of armor has had its health reduced by 25. For instance, Purple or Gold Armor had 200 health prior to the start of Season 6. Now, those kinds of armor have 175 health. Red Armor will now grant 200 health rather than 225. According to Respawn, the reason for these changes is to try and bring down the time-to-kill in Apex Legends so as to; “better reward strategic positioning.”
