At that time, the FCA Group showed the entire world the Rebel TRX concept, a design exercise that featured the supercharged Hellcat V8 block under its hood. At the time, the Italian-American consortium division did not announce whether it would build a rival for the all-powerful Ford F-150 Raptor. However, those most loyal to the brand and the model have encouraged her to do so. For this reason, after four years of development and fine-tuning it is here. The RAM 1500 TRX, as defined by the brand, is the "supreme predator of the pickup world", a statement of intent. And we cannot deny that they are right, because with the data in hand we realize that there is no other similar model on the market. If you like it, we will tell you all its secrets, although you will imagine that it will not reach Europe ... The aesthetics of the RAM 1500 TRX is aggressive and robust in equal measure On an aesthetic level the RAM 1500 TRX is based on its brother. However, those responsible for the project have included new elements that help make the whole more aggressive. Thus, we find a very powerful front that is dominated by a large grille flanked by optical groups with LED technology. Interestingly, the bumper is not as aggressive as we expected, although it does not clash on the whole. On the hood we have a large functional air intake that, inside, is illuminated. Additionally, it has two other exits located on the sides. The ground clearance is considerable, helping the off-road qualities to be remarkable. All this adorned with black plastic protections so that the body does not suffer in the field. Here, too, the alloy wheels finished in glossy black stand out. Finally take a look behind. Here we also find changes, mainly focused on the name "RAM" in black. The light clusters are darkened as are the bumpers or the dual tailpipes. Still, your imprint can be further hardened, especially if you opt for items available in the Mopar Accessories Catalog. Among them are the ceiling lights or the winch. RAM has managed to create a quality interior with a high technological level If we move inside, the RAM 1500 TRX positively surprises. We are no longer facing a product of fair quality and cheap materials. On the contrary, those responsible for the FCA Group have wanted the most sporty model of this firm to be a reference in terms of materials and technology. Thus, the seats dressed in Alcantara in black and red tones with contrasting stitching or the interior inserts stand out above all. At the equipment level, the TRX is available in two versions TR1 and TR2. Thus, we find elements such as a thicker steering wheel, a digital screen for the instrument panel or a digital rear-view mirror with a built-in rear-view camera. In terms of design, the basic lines have not been altered, with a large central vertical touch screen. Where if there are changes it is in the gear selector, which becomes traditional. Brute force: 6.2 V8 HEMI with 711 hp and 881 Nm of maximum torque All in all, the really important thing about the RAM 1500 TRX is under its body. On a technical level, the similarities with his less brother are many, but the reinforcements and improvements can be counted in the hundreds. Its most direct competitor, the Ford F-150 Raptor, is satisfied with 3,628 kilos and 544 kilos respectively. Its performance, as announced by the FCA Group, is really high, with 711 hp and a maximum torque of 881 Nm. For its management it relies on an automatic cut-off transmission by TorqueFlite converter with 8 relations. All in all, the engine's power reaches the ground through all four wheels. To improve field effectiveness, the TRX has three off-road driving modes: Mud / Sand, Rock and Baja. To this we must add that the wading capacity in water is really good, with 82 centimeters. Still, performance is not a problem either, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds and a maximum (limited) of 190 kilometers per hour. When will the RAM 1500 TRX hit the market? The RAM 1500 TRX Launch Edition is now available in the brand's configurator. The entry into production, in the center that the FCA Group has in Sterling Heights (Michigan) will take place in a few weeks. The idea is that the first units reach their customers before the end of the year, although Covid-19 could delay the deadlines if new closures occur.
