Europe is very big, but compared to the rest of the continents it is a speck of dust. We could apply this same comparison to the variety of models that shape your automotive sector. Due to the idiosyncrasies of our countries, the models sold here are of moderate size and a specific profile. However, outside our borders there is so much variety that more than one fan should know it before it expires.

Now that SUV's are so fashionable, I'm going to talk about the Toyota Sequoia. This mammoth all-road is for sale in the United States and certain countries in Asia and Africa. Seeing it on our roads would be unthinkable, among other things because it is based on another model that would not fit on them either: the Toyota Tundra. Both are mythical models for the Japanese firm and therefore they have decided to update it, although with certain restrictions.

At a technical level, the Toyota Sequoia is based on the Tundra pickup

For those of you who don't know, the current generation Toyota Sequoia has been around for thirteen years. Yes, the second iteration hit the world in 2007 and throughout this time it has remained at the top of the sales list without major changes. However, to prevent competition from stepping on the ground, those responsible for the brand have decided that it is time to update it, although contrary to what it might seem, there will be no third generation.

Instead, for the 2021 model year they have opted to include a version called Nightshade Special Edition. To increase their exclusivity, they will dress their bodywork in the new Midnight Black, Magnetic Gray or Blizzard Pearl shades. Add to that the darkened chrome logos, fog lamp frames, lower grille and body moldings. Inside, we have a new black leather upholstery.

The second modification comes from the hand of a new finish called TRD Pro. In its case, it enjoys the Lunar Rock tone although optionally you can also choose between Midnight Black, Magnetic Gray or Super White. And so far the changes, since the rest of the elements that make up the personality of the Sequoia do not vary one iota, including its generous cabin for 8 occupants.

The commercial launch of the revamped Toyota Sequoia will take place in the coming weeks. To talk about the third generation, we will have to wait one or two years, as it is not expected to be presented until 2022 as a 2023 model. It will be necessary to see if the brand maintains its approach or if it mutates into a more refined and hybrid product. Time to time.
