The spokeswoman for the Po[CENSORED]r Agricultural Front of Peru (Frepap), María Teresa Céspedes, urged the new president of the Council of Ministers, Walter Martos, to prioritize the situation that the country's regions are experiencing due to the advance of the coronavirus (COVID- 19).

 

“We want [Martos] to be aware of what is happening in the regions and to give them priority, we must all put order in an articulated way to defeat this pandemic. We hope you know how to articulate, no one is against anyone, ”he told the Andina Agency.

The spokeswoman for the parliamentary group remarked that Frepap is a group that is open to dialogue and has a particular concern about what is happening in the regions, for which she indicated that she hopes that the head of the PCM has this same provision.

 

"With decentralization, the regional governors are responsible, but in the face of the pandemic it was necessary for the Ministry of Health to intervene to solve the existing problems," he added.

Next Tuesday, August 11, Martos will appear before the Plenary of Congress in order to present the general government policy and request a vote of confidence.

 

It should be noted that Frepap was one of the benches that voted against granting the investiture to the Cabinet led by Pedro Cateriano last week. The result of the vote was as follows: 37 congressmen voted in favor, 54 against and there were 34 abstentions.
